INDIA'S G.I.R. 2009- BANGALORE
 
 
Produced and promoted by Rock Street Journal and staged at the palace grounds in Bangalore, India on October 25th, sound for the 2009 G.I.R. (Great India Rock) festival was supplied by V&P Sound Pvt Ltd. JBL VERTEC VT4889 fullsize line array system with V&P's 2269H-loaded JBL CSR subwoofers, and JBL VRX932LA's in use for center fills. Featured local and international artists included acts like Inner Sanctum, Kryptos, Parachute XVII and Benea Reach.
 
 
 
GREAT NORTH RUN - U.K.
 
 
The world's largest half-marathon event, the Bupa Great Runs take place in various locations on a regular basis. The recent Bupa Great North Run from Newcastle to South Shields (21.7 kilometers/13.5 miles) attracted more than 50,000 competitors. Nitelites (Newcastle, UK), in cooperation with Adlib Audio, provided a large JBL VERTEC VT4889 system including more than 100 enclosures. These were staged along the route in various positions, using both ground-stacked and suspended arrays.
 
 
 
CHINA'S NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION - BEIJING
 
 
On October 1st, China's ACE Professional Sound & Lighting deployed a massive, distributed array system featuring JBL VERTEC VT4888 midsize line array elements with supporting VT4882 midsize arrayable subwoofers for a huge crowd watching more than 200,000 event participants in the country's National Day Spectacular celebration at Tiananmen Square. The event commemorated the 60th Anniversary of the country's 1949 revolution. Total street frontage along the parade route requiring audio coverage measured nearly 10 km (6.2 miles).
 
THE PRODIGY ROCK BELARUS
 
 
October 5th in Minsk, Belarus, hard-rock fans enjoyed a high-energy performance by demanding international headline act The Prodigy. To meet the group's concert rider requirements, a large JBL VERTEC VT4889 fullsize line array system with subwoofers was provided by Art Studio Pro with support from UBS (Universal Baltic Sound).
 
 
 
NEW YORK'S MADISON SQUARE GARDEN: ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME CONCERTS
 
 
HBO (Home Box Office) will present a special 4-hour broadcast presentation, airing on 11/29/09, of the 25th Anniversary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Concerts, which featured performances by U2, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Aretha Franklin, Jerry Lee Lewis, Metallica, Stevie Wonder and many other legendary performers. Two star-studded nights of performances were captured on video at the sold-out live shows which took place October 29-30. Firehouse Productions (New York) provided multiple arrays of JBL VERTEC VT4889 fullsize line array elements with supporting VT4880A arrayable subwoofers, fully powered by Crown I-Tech HD amplifiers and managed by system engineer Mark Dittmar.
 
 
 
DON HENLEY, CANADA & USA TOUR 2009
 
 
Concert tour dates for the current North American tour by Don Henley (a founding member of The Eagles), with dates in the Northeast throughout November, are being handled by Baltimore's Maryland Sound International. The company is servicing shows for this high-profile artist with a JBL VERTEC DP SERIES powered system, using VT4888DP-AN midsize line arrays with JBL DrivePack technology, complemented by  VT4880A fullsize arrayable subwoofers. Veteran engineer Bruce Knight (supported by system engineer Art Isaac) is mixing at FOH, with Kurt Springer on stage monitors. A Studer Vista 5SR digital console is in use on the production.
